"Rozané, an opening where light finds its way in"

Rozané is a small home yoga studio in Montréal, founded by Shakiba Izadi. The studio is centred around personal attention and and giving each person the space the space to develop their own practice.

Shakiba was first introduced to yoga at 18 in Iran, through the Sivananda tradition. Since then, yoga has stayed a constant part of her life changing and evolving with her along the way.

Years of practicing Iyengar shaped her attention to alignment and the way she understands the body. Later, she found Ashtanga, which became a central part of her practice and teaching. She is a certified 200-hour yoga teacher and has been teaching for over eight years. She continues to learn through her own daily practice and by studying regularly with teachers she admires, including Kino MacGregor.

Her teaching isn’t tied to one method. It carries pieces of everything she has practiced and learned over the years, while leaving room for exploration and for each person to find their own way into the practice. With a background in architecture and urban studies, Shakiba has always been interested in how we experience space through the body.
